about

Ruth Levine is a Bondi, based mixed media and textile artist/sculptor who is passionate about the exploration of textures and the perception and tactile responses of 3D artwork through the visual transformation of primarily preloved or upcycled materials.

‘My ethos is about the reduction of everyday waste. If we use an item, we are responsible for the lifecycle of that product. I look at packaging, PET bottles, concrete core holes, black jeans and even tea bags with an artist’s eye and delight when I can breathe new life into them as they transcend into their next  life as an art piece.’

An award- winning interior designer with over 35 years’ experience in the world of interior design, Ruth has now translated her love for textures, fabric and form into sculptural and usable artwork.  Her artworks exemplify Ruth’s philosophy of perfect imperfection a foil against manmade perfectionism. Her work is internationally collected and is consistently featured in Belle magazine, House and Garden and the Local Project.
